Getting Started

When you add a new company, you will need to enter all relevant information for your business. In order to do so, here's a list of all Company fields along with their explanation. As well as Company creation and editing.

Create Company

Info

This section contains your basic contact details:

  • Company name

  • Default Carrier (select a carrier this Company uses as a default one in Mod24, for more details on carriers visit our section)

  • Email

  • Phone

Order number prefix

The prefix is added on your moves. For example your Company has a name "Moving Company LA" and you want your prefix to be MCL, so the orders you have will be generated as MCL0001, MCL0002 and so on.

Prefix will be generated automatically if you don't add it, note that once generated you won't be able to change it. Ensure you add something that will be related to your business.

Address

Location of your Company. Populate this with the information where your company is physically available. The address you enter here will affect the proximity in which the map will zoom in for the Coverage area.

Time Settings

Time zone of your company. The system will automatically suggest a time zone according to your company address. If you wish to change you can use the dropdown to choose the area.

All time related information, such as job start time, job end time, etc. will be taken from this time zone. It is important to know that the customer will see information about times according to the time zone of the company.

Time Increments

This is used to round up the total hours for the jobs, if they are being tracked from the Foreman app. By default this will be set to 1 minute.

Example 1:

  • Time increment is set to 1 minute

  • Move was completed in 3 h 42 min

  • We show that the total move time is 3 h 42 min

Example 2:

  • Time increment is set to 15 minutes

  • Move was completed in 3 h 42 min

  • We show that the total move time is 3 h 45 min

Basic Pricing Details

This is the base setup for your further pricing configuration.

  • Min hours

  • Custom rate

  • Deposit

  • Truck price

  • Drive back addition

Min hours

Minimum hours will be charged automatically if your move took less than the value entered here.

Example:

  • Min hours are set to 4 h

  • Move was completed in 3 h 42 mins

  • Base move price is calculated from 4 h multiplied by hourly rate

Custom rate

This option allows you to choose if you want your users to be able to offer a custom rate for booking.

If you wish to use this option set it to "Yes". If you only wish to book with your default pricing set this option to "No".

If this option is enabled, set to Yes, only the users that have a permission to Book with custom rate will be able to use it.

Example:

  • Hourly rate for 3 movers and 1 truck is set to $150

  • Option for Custom rate is set to Yes

  • User that wants to book has a permission to Book with custom rate

  • User chooses to book with $145 for 3 movers and 1 truck

Deposit

Truck price

A base price for your truck that will be added on top of price for movers and allow you to form an hourly rate. It will also be charged on top of the hourly rate for an extra truck.

Drive back addition

This option will allow movers to add extra time after tracking of hours was performed. This can only be added from Movers app.

Rate settings

In this segment you can adjust how rates work and if they have a specific duration. Options to choose here are related to selecting if you offer a rate for an "x" number of days and if you send a pre-move agreement to your customers.

Fixed rate & Offer duration

This option means that you will keep a rate for a certain amount of time after you've offered it to your customers. By default this option is set to Yes and "2" days is used as an offer duration period.

Example for offer duration:

  • Customer called today to schedule their move. They want to move in about 4 weeks.

  • Sales Representative offered a rate for the selected date with 3 movers and 1 truck for $150.

  • Customer said they need some time to decide if they're happy with the offer.

  • Sales Representative mentions that the rate will be kept for them for 2 days.

Outcome 1: Two days have passed, Customer didn't book, pricing increased for the Company to $160, the offer for $150 is no longer available.

Outcome 2: Less than two days have passed, Customer decided to book, pricing increased for the Company to $160, but the initial offer of $150 is still available.

Once you populate all the necessary info you can create your Company. The additional setup can be completed later or you can proceed to finish the setup.

Pre-agreement sending

This option will allow you to send, or not send, an email to the customers before the move. Along with this email we will send a link to your digital bill of lading your customers could review and sign.

If you choose "Yes" this option will be available from the Edit job page in more actions menu.

Cash discount

You can choose to enter if your company provides a cash discounts for the moves that were fully charged in cash.

Enter an amount and select the unit how the cash discount is calculated. You can choose to set it as a flat dollar amount or percentage, e.g. $10 cash discount or 4% cash discount.

Cash discount calculation:

Cash discount calculation works in a way that we deduct it from the hourly rate according to the number of hours it took to complete the move.

  • Company set cash discount to $10

  • Hourly rate for the move is $120

  • Move took 5 hours to complete

  • Additional expenses are total of $100

  • Total job price before applied discount is $700

  • Customer decides to pay fully in cash

  • Total job price with cash discount is now $650

On the Edit job page you will be able to see how much you should charge the customer if they want to pay fully in cash. This is visible in the Billing section of the job.

If the foreman is using an app, they can just select Cash as payment and the system will automatically apply the discount for that move.

If cash discount on the Company is set to 0, it is ignored and all options related to Cash discount are not applicable on the moves.

Double drive time (DDT)

Settings for DDT can be set for a Company by selecting Yes/No option. If you choose to use this feature, a new field labeled DDT will be shown for all Jobs booked with the Company.

DDT rounds up according to time increments of the Company, e.g. if the company uses 15 minute increments, it will round up accordingly.

DDT is always added on top of total time and in case of min hours, DDT will be added on top of min hours.

Cluster Fee

This section can be used to adjust how much is kept by the owner and how much a company earns. If the information in one of these fields is populated, it will override the settings for a Carrier, and use Company cluster fee to calculate totals for completed jobs.

In this field you will enter the amount you charge as a deposit when a move is booked. You can choose to set a flat dollar amount or take a percentage from your hourly rate. For more details visit page.

Fixed rate will allow you to save offers on Leads and Jobs. If it is set to "No", this option will not be available. Further details on saving offers can be found in .
